Thomas, a thoughtful post. Thanks for following up on my original story.
What puzzles me is why on earth should people accept one anonymous assertion from Apple that “we don’t track your data”? Oh, well if an unnamed source at Apple claims it is so, it must be so. :-)

Sometimes, Apple zealots get a little too… zealous! I think that Apple is trustworthy enough to be given the benefit of the doubt as of right now, but I think that we, the users of their wonderful products, should be given the same respect.
That’s all. I AM really glad that this many people are reacting; it shows that people take their privacy seriously (or not.)
